This series started after a crazy storm with an open umbrella at the bottom of the pool. The distortions and reflections caused by the surface of the water combined three planes of view: what was under, the texture of the surface and reflections of the sky and clouds. From there I started photographing underwater portraits and still lifes, and a series of self portraits created by the agency of the natural elements. These digital images are printed on cotton, layered and stitched.
Prints of the original textile compositions are available on a variety of media with framing and hanging options. Gift items also available.
In my favorite works of art there are intersections between subject matter, observation, and the artist's
expertise with their chosen medium. Artist Libby Cerullo's uses of textiles and photographic imagery
are intriguing and refined explorations of nature and her imagination.
